EDM has exploded over the past year, reaching exciting new heights in the world of music. For fans of house, dubstep, drum & bass, trance, techno, and beyond, there is one event that is circled on their calendar year in and year out. It is the Super Bowl, World Series, Oscars, Halloween, and your wedding day all rolled into one. It is Ultra Music Festival.
The center piece of Miami Music Week, Ultra is three days of EDM heaven in South Florida. Nearly every DJ you’ve ever heard of (and many that you haven’t) descend on the festival to play on the multitude of stages scattered across Bayfront Park in downtown Miami.
With only a few exceptions, the line-up is literally a who’s who of EDM relevance. The headliners include names like Tiesto, Kraftwerk, Carl Cox, Skrillex, Justice, AVICII, Fatboy Slim, Duck Sauce, Armin Van Buuren, Kaskade, Bassnectar, and David Guetta.
Ultra is so packed with talent that many of the DJ’s appearing on the middle and bottom portion of the line-up readily headline and sell-out their own shows.
Ultra 2012, which takes place March 23rd, 24th, and 25th, sold-out in record time (almost three months in advance) as fans snatched up their tickets and began making travel plans.
On Thursday, March 22nd, movie theaters around the U.S. will be holding a special one night screening of “Can You Feel It: The UMF Experience”. Shot in full HD, the documentary will showcase the essence of Ultra Music Festival.
There is truly only one way to experience Ultra and that is live and in person. However, if you can’t make it to Miami, we highly recommend checking out the movie.
