Firefly Music Festival landed on the summer festival circuit in 2012 with the force of a meteor strike. Despite it being the very first year of the event, Firefly boasted one of the most exciting, well rounded line-ups of the summer, rivaling long-standing festivals like California’s Coachella Festival and Tennessee’s Bonnaroo Festival.
Not only was the line-up fantastic with acts like The Killers, Jack White, The Black Keys, Death Cab for Cutie, John Legend, Bassnectar, Modest Mouse, and The Flaming Lips (just to name a few), but the entire Firefly experience was one of our most memorable of the entire year.
We spent three full days on site covering the event and Firefly ran so smoothly, it was a wonder to us that this was the inaugural event.
From the music (spread across four stages), to the camping, the G/A to the VIP, It was hard for us to find anything to nit-pick. We were completely convinced when the event ended that Firefly would return in 2013, bigger and better than the first year.
Call us fortune tellers but we couldn’t have been more right. Firefly is back in 2013, with another amazing line up, new features, and an entirely new weekend experience. This year, the event will take place on June 21st-23rd (2012 was in July).
Just like last year, the acts lined up for Firefly Music Festival 2013 offer something for everyone. The deep bill which features headliners like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Vampire Weekend, and Foster The People is impressive to say the least! Whether you are a fan of rock, hip-hop, funk, EDM, and beyond, you’ll be sure to find numerous acts that strike your fancy.
There have been upgrades made to the camping experience as well including the option to check in the night before the festival begins in the “Front Row” camping area.
Several other exciting additions to Firefly Music Festival have yet to be released to the public, however, they will be revealed through FireflyFestival.com and Firefly’s social media outlets: Facebook.com/FireflyMusicFestival and on Twitter @LiveAtFirefly.
Tickets went on sale at noon on February 21st and G/A tickets quickly sold-out in the early bird, advanced, and regular tiers. At this point, only the final tier remains. If you’d like to attend the 2013 Firefly Music Festival we HIGHLY recommend that you buy your tickets and camping passes immediately!
We simply cannot wait to return to Dover, Delaware for the 2013 Firefly Music Festival and hope you’ll be there to join us for three full days of music madness!
